Well, the monkey brains haven't completely turned me into a monkey, and I still have to deal with human issues, like baby fat. I decided to get rid of my baby fat.
I did it with a healthy diet.

I also added some exercises to my daily life.

Sometimes Daddy would exercise with me at the park.

Drums are a good exercise too.

You need to be careful when lifting weights though. Once time I was benchpressing 1,028 pounds and the barbell snapped in half. The plates fell on my head and I got cut. I had to finish my workout with Daddy's car.

It's also important to stay properly hydrated, so drink plenty of fluids.

Just look at the change in my physical appearance.

Shortly after Daddy's birthday party, I was helping Mommy clean up around the house, when I fell asleep in this nice cozy box.

Then, when I woke up I was so far away, it took me a long time to get back. That's why I haven't posted in so long. Here's what happened while I was away.

First, Uncle Dave showed up from Beerenkrautland.

I turned one.

Then some fat guy snuck in our house and gave me more presents!

Yesterday was my first ever Halloween as a human that has been born. Last Halloween I was still warming up in Mama's belly. I dressed up as a monkey. I wanted to be an evil monkey, but Daddy couldn't find enough fake blood to pour on my costume.

I only got a few pieces of candy. Man, I love candy.

Well, actually, it's just a tooth, but it looks like a monkey tooth. I wonder if it has anything to do with the transplant. In two weeks, my monkey cranium (yeah, that's a big word for a little guy, that I know since I got the monkey brains) will be firm enough to support swinging through trees, flinging poo and all that stuff.

I already figured out how to stand up. I guess this is how monkeys stand up, but I'm not sure.

One thing with these new brains is that I'm much more observant. I noticed that daddy has been working a lot this week. When he gets home he's tired and sleepy, like me sometimes.

I still call him "Momma" though, just to keep him wondering if I really know if he's my people. (I do know he is.)

One thing about the monkey brains is that I can fit in with monkeys, of course. Look at me whoopin' up this monkey.

And I can climb around like a monkey!

How's it hanging?

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. I got a brain transplant. Now I have the brains of a chimp, and I'm smarter because of it, because everyone knows that chimps are as smart as a 2 year old, and that's about 16 months older than I am right now.

Now I have to wear this helmet so my head can heal correctly.

Just kidding (about the helmet, not the brain transplant), my real helmet is much harder, so my brains don't fall out.

The surgery made me pretty tired, so I slept a lot.

I even fell asleep playing Wii.

I fell asleep on the boppy too.

All in all though, the new monkey brains is doing wonders for me.

I can play piano now.

I swing now too!

And I'm awesome at soccer now.

Semi-annual report

Hey there,
When I was recently just chilling out, I reflected on my first six months or so around this place.

And now that I've been around for more than half a year, I figured I'd give you my take of things. I was a little guy once.

Here's me in the same chair blue bouncy seat.

When I was born, it was cold, now it's hot. What's that all about? I need to get down into my diapers just to cool off.

I learned that things don't always taste good, but, for some reason, I always want to put them in my mouth,

but I guess some things I'm supposed to put in my mouth.

Now I know what it means when Mommy says Grammy is coming over.

I figured out that sometimes I get put into baby jail,

and that grass really isn't all that bad,

And sometimes, you just need a nap, no matter what you think you should be doing instead.

Pet Parade

This passed weekend, Mommy and Daddy took me to a pet parade. To be honest, I really wouldn't have minded just staying in and watching some TV.

Mommy, Daddy and I sat on the lawn near a road and a church. It was a little chilly, so I kept Mommy warm.

I was a little worried about it, because when it started, the guy leading the parade was squeezing his cat(?) so much it was making this horrible sound.

These big red trucks drove by.

They were loud and scary.

Then I realized they weren't going to hurt me, so I was alright.

The parade even had mini-Vader.

This guy was not a part of the parade, seriously.

It was all pretty fun.

Where have I been?

Here I am!

It's been a busy month since Easter. Sorry I haven't posted, believe me, I'm sad about it too.

It's been only a month, but I've done so many things in that time.

I figured out how to eat cereal now. I even sit at the dining room table.

Also, Uncle Dave was in town because I got baptized. I had to wear a dorky white suit, but it was still nice.

They were a lot of people there, and I'm glad I got to see all of you. Thanks for coming.

While he was in town, Uncle Dave and I played a lot. Once he left I got to catch up on some sleep, so I slept all the way until 8:45 in the morning. I went to bed at 8:30 the previous day! That's a lot of sleep.

It was fun playing with Uncle Dave, but also nice when we just lounged around.

Also last month, Mommy and I went to visit my Paw Steve at his work. He fixes airplanes, like this one here:

It's sad because it's broken.

All the people there thought I was cute, and rightly so, because I am. Mostly, they were just sitting around drinking coffee. Unfortunately, I didn't get to meet the test pilot. She had the day off to get a new hair-do. See:

Also, Mommy, Grammy and I met Daddy for lunch near his work one day last week. We had a picnic.

When we got home, I was so hot, so I just hung out in my undies.

Then, just yesterday, I managed to move myself forward on the floor. Daddy figured I inched forward about 18" to 24". I was pretty tired afterwards. That's a lot of work for a 4½ month old.

Seriously, I moved myself that far, with no help from Mommy, Daddy, or anyone else. (Well, Mommy provided some encouraging words, but no other help.) Daddy says it won't be too much longer until I'm mowing the lawn. I can't wait!

Happy Easter

Mommy told me that the Easter Bunny was coming, so last night we colored some eggs.

My egg was blue.

The Easter Bunny brought me a basket with toys and a chocolate bunny in it!

The chocolate buuny was delicious.

But, I'd much rather suck on my thumb.

I got chocolate all over my face,

So I had to take a bath.

Then I got dressed in my Easter best and went to church.

My yummy adventures

A week or so ago, Daddy let me lick a girlscout cookie. Then Mommy yelled at him. It was funny. Since then, I've had some Pepsi and even a dum-dum lollipop (though just a taste.)

Yeah, I'm getting older and bigger, and I started eatting formula and rice cereal.

I get so excited for yummy cereal!

Daddy's even helping me out with my culinary expansion as well.

What kind of milk was that, Daddy?

I still haven't really figured this eatting thing out yet. I always end up with food on my face.

Now my poopy is so stinky. It's funny to watch Mommy and Daddy's faces when they change my diapers now. Ha ha!

Tubby Time

Usually after tubby time, I scream and yell. Basically, it's cold being all wet, but also, tubby time is fun to splash Mommy and the counter. But sometimes, Mommy and Daddy catch me being relaxed after my bath. That's because I'm a good kid, so far. And I'm really, really cute.

The other night, we went to Uncle Nate's to watch the Superbowl. Pretty much, the game was boring, but I helped make the night exciting.

When Uncle Nate was holding me, I had a diaper malfunction, and got a little leak. When Uncle Nate was done holding me, he noticed a yellowish-brown spot on his shirt. He smelled it and smelled it, but didn't figure out that it came from my butt! Ha!

It was funny.

Really Funny.

So funny, I was rolling on the floor laughing...

Even Uncle Nate thought it was funny.

When I got home, I noticed that Daddy had finished the lamp he was making for me.

The rhino is named Edgar. He has a gravelly voice.

The monkey is named Bernard. He is funny.

If you don't know the story of Edgar and Bernard, you should ask my Daddy the next time you see him.

This monkey isn't Bernard, but he still tells me the strangest stories.

I'm getting chubby

So, I guess I gained about 11 ounces in one week. That's like an 11% gain in body weight. I attribute it to the protein powder and raw eggs I've been eating.

The other day, I tried to poop on Daddy like I did on Mommy, but Daddy's either smarter than Mommy or more lucky. He moved so quick to get the diaper up that he stayed clean and non-stinky.

I got a little angry since Daddy thwarted my plan.

See, Daddy and I have the same chin.

That's a natural adpatation. In the distant past, human children were born so that they looked like their fathers. This was so that the father would know the offspring was his and not eat them. It worked. Daddy only kisses me.

Now that I'm getting bigger, my brain is working better too. I used to only eat, sleep and poop. Now I'm mildly amused by things that light up, move or make sounds. Here's some pictures of me playing with my toys.

Later, Mommy and I watched TV for a while.

I'm going to go to bed now. Well, maybe I'll get some boobies first, we'll see.

New baby, new couch

So, Mommy ordered a new couch last fall, but it didn't come until after I was born. I'm not sure what she was thinking, since babies like me like to make messes a lot. Over the next few years, I can't even tell you what kind of things I'm going to do to this couch.

I tried to teach Mommy a lesson about getting new furniture with a little one in the house. When she was changing me on the red ottoman, I waited to poop until she had my diaper off. She got my old diaper off and was cleaning my bottom when all of a sudden: Whoosh! Blast Off! I got her good! She sure learned her lesson. I don't have any pictures of it which is really too bad, because this was a work of art.
This was many lessons in all at one, since I was able to get the ottoman a little, Mommy's leg, and the new carpet!

Easy like Sunday morning

For me, what day of the week it is really a moot point. In fact, I actually have no idea what days even are. And I don't mean the names of the days, I mean that my little brain has no concept of what a day is. Remember, all I know is eat, sleep, poop, repeat.

But, I'm told, I can relax in bed and snuggle as if were actually the weekend (whatever that means). I guess that's because I get Mommy and Daddy up so much earlier than they need to get up that there is no need to rush. Ha! Daddy must love it. (I think that's something called sarcasm.)

Here is a video of me when I was about one, one minute old that is. As you can hear, I was already not doing as Daddy told me too. Actually though, I wanted to cry, but I was so tired from being born that all I could do was muster up a few grunts.

The lady you hear talking is not Mommy but the nice nurse who helped deliver me.

By the way, I can make plenty of noise now...

So, today I had my first tubby bath ever.

At first, I had to get used to being all wet again. But after a little while, I didn't mind it so much.

I think I'm going to like tubby time.

Mommy did a great job washing me so I smell good. (Of course, Daddy didn't shower until the evening so he was a little stinky.)

Then Mommy dried me up so I wouldn't be cold.
